01Play together in the office

Decide who fetches the snacks at lunchtime, or the order of presentations at the start of a meeting. Even if people sit far apart, everyone on the same office LAN can join from their own desk at the same time. Any number of people can play (up to 30). It uses the same hand drawings as the game on our website.

No setupJust launch it and type your name. The first PC to start automatically becomes the host, and everyone else finds it automatically. There is no address to type in.

Hands stay hiddenNobody's hand is sent out until everyone has chosen. The hands are withheld by the host itself, not merely hidden on screen, so they cannot be discovered by watching the network.

Draws are replayedIf everyone plays the same hand, or all three hands appear, it is a draw. Winners get one point each, and the scoreboard updates on the spot.

It speaks, tooIt reads the result aloud. You can pick a normal, child-like, or even higher voice — or switch the voice off when it would be a nuisance.

A single file (nothing to install)

Download じゃんけん.exe

Put the downloaded file on each person's PC and open it. There is no installation. When you no longer want it, just delete the file — nothing is left behind on the PC.

When opening the file for the first time: if Windows shows "Windows protected your PC," click "More info" then "Run anyway" (this appears because the file is not digitally signed). Windows Firewall may also ask once — tick "Private networks" and click "Allow access," which is what lets the PCs find each other on the same office LAN.

03How to play

Everyone opens "じゃんけん.exe" on their own PC, types their name, and clicks Start.
The names and scores of everyone in the room appear at the top. You can join in at any time.
Click rock, scissors, or paper. Once everyone has chosen, all hands are revealed at once and the winners each get a point.
The result stays for about 8 seconds and then the next round starts automatically. Click "Play again" to move on straight away.
If the connection does not come up, click "Reconnect."

04Requirements and terms of use

Windows 10 / 11. Plays between PCs on the same office LAN. If your network blocks broadcast traffic, the PCs may not find each other.
All play traffic stays inside your own LAN. Your name and the hands you play never leave it.
When you open the app, and each time you finish a round, it quietly visits our website (www.turumi.co.jp) in the background and adds one to our visitor count. All it sends is the fact that the game was opened or played once — never your name or the hands played. The app works fine with no internet connection.
Free to use. Use at your own risk.

This app is our website version of Janken, rebuilt to run on office LAN PCs alone. The website version (for phones and browsers) is still there, so take your pick.
