Choosing Models by Role

Development and operation of this site uses Anthropic's AI "Claude," with different models chosen for different roles.

• Claude Opus… for major changes and design decisions affecting the whole system
• Claude Sonnet… for day-to-day development work such as adding or fixing features
• Claude Haiku… for quick checks and light tasks
• Claude Fable… for wording that needs care, such as notices and announcements

From Edit to Production

The actual work of editing files and deploying them to the server is done through a tool called "Claude Code." This tool handles the whole flow: Claude directly operates files on the computer, checks their syntax, and then sends them to production. Concretely, the steps are as follows.

• Edit the file directly on the computer
• For PHP, run a syntax check (php -l); for HTML/CSS, check the actual appearance for width issues or breakage
• Advance the version number shown on screen by one
• Save the pre-edit content on the server as a backup
• Send only the changed files directly to the production server
• After sending, read the file back from the server and verify it matches
• Open the actual page in a browser to confirm, then report back

Every time the site is updated, this syntax check, automatic backup, and version tracking are performed so changes can be deployed to production safely.

Design Refined Through Dialogue

Design choices such as colors, spacing, and text size are not decided on a whim either. Based on feedback given along the way — such as "it looks bare" or "this space is wasted" — the numbers were adjusted through dialogue with Claude, gradually arriving at the current form.

Examples of Systems Built Through Dialogue with AI

The in-house CMS "WebsiteEditor" was also developed through dialogue with Claude. Once built, WebsiteEditor itself now handles day-to-day text edits and layout adjustments, reducing how often AI needs to be asked and improving cost-effectiveness. Its main features are as follows.

• Edit headings, paragraphs, bullet lists, and table cells, with bold, italic, underline, color, and size
• Edit the raw source itself (HTML, CSS, JS, etc.)
• Edit tables (CSV/TSV/JSON/xlsx) cell by cell; rows and columns can be added too
• Every save automatically removes emoji, advances the version number, checks for broken links, and backs up the previous version
• "Restore from backup" instantly reverts to a previously saved state

"SwiftSyncExp," which moves files between the server and a computer, was likewise newly created through dialogue with Claude. It began as the world's first real-time FTP client and is now the software behind the "Web Auto-Publish System," a new approach we developed. Just save on your computer, and heavy images and videos are slimmed automatically, the previous version is kept as a backup, and your homepage is published on the spot. With the manual work of sending, converting and checking gone, our website development has become dramatically faster. Because it has no concept of a database or plugins, there is less surface for it to be compromised, and it runs faster too. It is coming soon.

AI for Our Customers

We use AI not only to build the site, but also in features our customers use directly. In the "Bike AI Consultation" available to registered customers, questions can be typed or spoken, and answers can be read aloud too. It remembers earlier exchanges so the conversation can continue naturally, and conversations are logged so an administrator can review them. A "Bike AI Quiz" is also available, with 5 difficulty levels, to test bike knowledge.
